The point at which something starts...
This is the beginning of my blog, my thoughts, time to share my dreams with you.
The idea to create this little ramble for you to follow, was born today. After a very long night shift, with no patients. Not even one to temp me to stay awake, I had to come up with something to keep me amused.
Pumped up on way too much coffee I am sitting here trying to edit this new master piece of mine, yet the work computer is painfully slow and I am unfortunately busting to pee! don't you hate it when you really need to go, but for some reason you keep putting it off...
So today Toby and I went to Panorama for a look see, (for those of you who don't know, Panorama is a home for people who have severe disability's). After 18 months we are finally about to get some in home respite care to help us with our little champ and Panorama (Multicap) will be overseeing and providing his nursing care as part of his disability support package. It will be fantastic to actually be able to come home and sleep after a night shift and to feel like a human again, oh I cant imagine I will know what has hit me. anyway, we visited Panorama, and really had my eyes opened! I mean I have worked in aged care, I have cared for people with many disability's before, but I had never put them on the same level as my baby and today I was forced too. The home it self was tidy and you could see that the staff were fantastic, they have a special room set up for the little ones that they are beginning to get in for respite stays. they even had a hydrotherapy spa, that was Toby's favourite room, predictably, the nurse we met, wore bright green jeans, and had a very animated personality, Toby was cackling with laugher, at the mere sight of this guy, he was obviously OK with it all.
I however wanted to run away, I have always tried so hard not to think of what may happen as Toby grows into a man, I want him to be able to experience everything, and I want to be able to ignore his other problems, Today I got a very blunt look at what could be, and now I am more than ever focused on maximising his potential, I am going to make sure Toby gets everything!
Not a good start to our morning but our day did get better, with a snuggle on the couch with a mars bar muffin smothered in cream to share with my little hero, and a snooze before work.
And now here I am bored out of my brain at an usually quiet work, I cant help but fell that this is the calm before the storm.... what do you think?
So .... let my story begin.
